Before I became a Sr. Senior Instructional Designer, I was where you might be now—super burned out and wondering how to break into ID, build a portfolio, and prove my skills.

I joined an ID trade school and bought the tools I thought I'd need. But when I got my first ID job, we didn’t even use any of it!

Instead, the tools I used most were the same ones I picked up as a teacher.

Had I known then what I know now, I wouldn't have hesitated to leap into ID. And it wouldn't have cost me thousands of dollars.

That’s why I created this membership. In our sessions, we focus on real-world tools and practical solutions—no expensive software required.

I’m completely new to instructional design. Will this help me?
Absolutely! We’ll cover foundational concepts through our case studies and guide you step-by-step.
Why is membership priced the way it is? What’s the catch?
No catch! I know how hard it can be to upskill/job-hunt with limited funds. Prices are set to what I believe is ethical for the service.
Tell me about your cancelation/refund policies.
You can cancel at any time. But you will only have access to the recordings and resources while you are subscribed.

Also, I almost put "cancel no questions asked," but truthfully, I may ask questions if you do decide to cancel. Not so I can convince you to stay, but so I can improve the experience for others.

Full refunds are available until the first scheduled session of the month, regardless of whether or not you can attend live.

Due to tax implications, I cannot offer prorated refunds.
What will workshops be like?
Workshops are offered twice a month over Google Meet, Tuesday 6-7pm central. You’ll receive reminders and links in advance to make scheduling easy.

Each workshop is structured in two parts:
- The first 30 minutes will focus on key instructional design topics, featuring real-world corporate case studies and/or assets designed by our members.
- The second 30 minutes will be an open Q&A session where you can ask questions about anything related to instructional design.
What if I can't attend live?
No worries! All workshops are recorded, and you’ll receive an email with the recording and resources afterward. Catch up at your own pace.
What is the time commitment of members?
That’s really up to you. I assume a couple of hours a week (including the workshop). If you only have the bandwidth to attend live sessions (or watch the recording), that’s fine too. What’s important is how you’re showing up for yourself.
What tools/tech will I need to participate?
You need reliable internet access to attend or view the webinars. It would also be beneficial to have a Google account. Any builds I showcase will use tools that are free and accessible. You won’t need to buy any expensive software.
How will I get feedback on my assets?
Certain workshops lend themselves to providing feedback. For instance, if I’m presenting on job aids, I might send an advanced call for members to share their job aids with me. Based on those submissions, I’ll share the asset and give feedback.

When mentees and I have worked through a corporate case study, I’ve given live feedback on assets created for the case study.

There may also be time during the Q&A portion of the workshop to provide live feedback.

This will also be subject to how many people sign up. But you can learn from hearing other people get feedback too!
Okay, but who are you?
Aw, I'm so pleased you asked.

I’m an autistic professional who works as a Sr. ID for a global consulting firm. Before that I was an eLearning Experience Designer for a global language learning company. And before *that* I was the lead teacher and curriculum specialist/eLearning Developer for a restorative justice program while also freelancing as a storyboard writer and education consultant.

I’ve guest spoken for different organizations, served as an advisor for university programs, and launched a teacher-specific program for an instructional design trade school.

And finally, I have an EMBA in Corporate Leadership & Strategy, a Master ID certification, and a BA in Technical Writing.
